We have a great bit of news for all of our British and Australian customers!
Here at FontFont.com we are pleased to announce that we’ve improved our currency system, making it easier to purchase and pay for FontFonts. This means that as of now our Brit and Aussie customers are able to buy our fonts in either Sterling (GBP) or OZ dollars (AUD).
We are always on the lookout for ways we can improve our website and in our latest improvement we’ve combined our Browse and Find pages into one. So it is even easier to search our library and find the typeface you need.
Bringing together the best of both Browse and Find and adding a few more new features to boot, the new Fonts page allows you to search, compare and contrast our typefaces.
Here are a few highlights of the new way to find FontFonts:
You can now sort your search to view families and single products at a glance with just one click. You can also change the way you view the typefaces, so you can see what it looks like in longer text, in a list or just in the raster. If you’re looking for a particular language you can also search by language, just type in the language you need and and hey presto the fonts appear that support that a particular language. You can also order your search by intended use, by family size, trendiness, popularity, alphabetically, newness or price.Go on, have a play!permalink
You may have heard that our Web FontFonts are now supported by 98% of all desktop browsers. With a tantalising typographical treasure trove of 2240 Web FontFonts, it’s sometimes tricky to decide which web font is the best fit for your online brand presence. To provide a little inspiration and help you choose, we’ve brought together a selection of in-use cases of our top ten most popular web fonts that have caught our eye recently.
The marvellous FF Meta and FF Meta Serif, Erik Spiekermann’s No-Brainer, feature on this great site Parse by How. Parse is a real smörgåsbord of design content; they scour the web to bring together what they call design ‘tapas for the brain’.
One of our bestsellers and a real classic typeface, FF DIN, features on the Budget 4 Change website. The thin horizontal strokes and fluent curves of FF DIN provide a sober and solid tone to the site which is dedicated to mapping, tracking and analyzing donor government budgets against official development assistance.
Evolution, Revolution, Solution. That is the simple philosophy behind Typolution, the ‘purely’ typographical website that covers the latest developments, innovations and advancements in the industry (all in German). The site uses our very own FF Unit for the body text and FF Unit Slab for the headers, offering a cool yet disciplined tone.
The website for the VRB (Vorratsgesellschaft) organization based in Germany is set in one of the bestselling and most serious text faces, the formidable FF Scala and FF Scala Sans. The VRB offers ‘off the’ Shelf Companies and legal advice.
Two Arms Inc are a team of two, who combine illustration and design in a delightful manner. Based in Brooklyn they are famed for their passion for screenprinting. Their website employs FF Dagny, by Örjan Nordling and Göran Söderström. Great minds think alike, as we use it on our site too!
We’ve recently received some lovely examples of FontFonts in-use. Keep ’em coming! If you’ve used a FF in a recent project and you’d like to be featured on our site, please email email@example.com
Behind the scenes, we are continually tinkering with the functionality of our website to make it even easier for you to browse, buy and download our FontFonts. You can now see what you have bought and get your FontFonts emailed straight to you.
With our nifty new feature you can choose to get your fonts delivered directly to your inbox as soon as you’ve bought them. So, whether you want to buy from the comfort of your iPad or are on the move on your mobile, shopping for FontFonts just got easier.

Lucy’s selection consists of lovely and legible fonts – she uses the word lovely lots and is an avid reader (much to the detriment of her eyesight), so her list is all about FontFonts that are both of those things.

In our quest to make our website as functional and easy to use as possible, we have added three brand new features.
First up, is our gallery of FontFonts in-use. Now when you browse through our typefaces, you can browse a picture of each font in-use. Just click on the ‘camera’ icon on the browse page and the pictures of our type in-use examples will be displayed.
You can also view an in-use gallery of each indivdiual FontFont family. So whether you’re searching for all in-use pictures of the FF Unit family, looking for an example of what FF Meta looks like when used on the Mozilla website, trying to find out what FF Fontesque looks like on a bookcover, or if you’re simply after another way of browsing through our library, our in-use gallery offers you a real visual treat.
Discover the delights of OpenType
Through the advanced typographical control of the OpenType format you can bring your text to life with fantastic features such as small caps, tabular figures, swashes and oldstyle figures. Yet it’s often said that the true features and fantastic functions of OpenType can be hidden away, often undiscovered. We hope to change that with our second new feature which helps you to see how the OpenType layout features, that are included in each FontFont, appear. For example, when you click on the OpenType features of FF Scala Regular you can now see all the different features that the font contains and how they will appear in FF Scala.
Want to find out more about OpenType and its layout features? Check out our OpenType User Guide (247KB).
Our FontFont Library is home to numerous award-winning typeface designs and now you can easily see which of our FontFonts have won prizes. Just look out for the little trophy icon next to the font on the browse page. You can also read all about the typefaces which have been awarded accolades and prizes on our news section under Awards.permalink
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working hard to update our website and improve its functionality. From full-text searches to an improved checkout, from tooltips to bestsellers, we’ve added a whole host of new features:
Want to know what the favorite FontFonts are for this month? Our bestsellers list now appears on our homepage and you can find out further information about each font on the dedicated bestseller page.
Have you tried shuffling through our fonts yet? With our Random function (check out the shuffle button at the top of our site) you can now randomize your search, find hidden gems, seek out some inspiration or simply have a play.
Not sure which format you need or what our different library tiers mean? Having trouble working out what the different options are? Finding FontFonts just got easier with our tooltips on each of the filter buttons. We’ve also improved our search functionality by adding a full text search, so if you’re looking for FF Tundra you can now search the whole of our site including news, awards and announcements.
Check it out!
From browse to buy in just a few clicks, now our online checkout process is even easier. We’ve simplified the process, so in just a matter of clicks you can pick and choose the fonts you want to buy and download them straight away.

We are sure you haven’t overlooked our in-use gallery on every family page. But what you may not have noticed is that this key feature of our site has just received a massive update. We recently uploaded over 2000 images representing almost every FontFont in our library, and will continue to upload more in the coming weeks.
So just browse on over to your favorite FontFont and get inspired by the in-use images to the right of the font’s description. The images offer you a peek at what is possible using a specific FontFont and explain how others have used that particular typeface on their projects. Most images even include a description and the designer’s contact information in case you’d like to hire them for your next project.
At last Friday’s iF Communication Design Award 2012 ceremony, FontShop International and Edenspiekermann design agency were awarded a golden iF award for their collaboration on the FontFont.com website relaunch. Edenspiekermann’s Creative Director Robert Stulle and FontFont Marketing Director Ivo Gabrowitsch accepted the coveted prize on behalf of both teams before an audience of 1700 international guests at BMW Welt in Munich.
The international jury was full of praise. With comments like “maximum simplicity and clarity of the world’s largest contemporary font library”, “the new content structure and search function allows users to comfortably explore typefaces”, and “a useful and wonderful website” and more, they fully recognized that the redesign indeed fulfilled its original intent.
The iF label, introduced in 1953, is an important symbol of outstanding design achievements. Here are some figures that put in perspective how proud we are of this accomplishment: from 1054 submissions, 275 received the red iF label from which only 30 designs won the iF gold award for excellent communication design.read more
