We are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring the third ISType Conference that takes place in İstanbul from 13 to 16 June 2013.
Over the course of four days, there will be a series of nine lectures and five workshops, all focused on the theme Stroke, which was inspired by Gerrit Noordzij’s book The Stroke. The speakers line-up includes the likes of Akira Kobayashi, Robert Bringhurst, Yves Peters, Erik van Blokland and Luc(as) de Groot.

Our feet have just about touched the ground since the wonderful whirlwind that was TYPO Berlin 2013 last week. So, we thought we’d share some snippets and snapshots.
Taking place over three days and reaching it's eighteenth year running, this year’s TYPO Berlin was one of the biggest yet with design superstars such as Jessica Walsh, Neville Brody, Albert-Jan Pool and Ken Garland.
This year’s conference also played host to the first ever Type Review that took place on Friday 17 May. Members of our official TypeBoard, Erik Spiekermann, Stephen Coles, Erik van Blokland, Andreas Frohloff, Jürgen Siebert and Ivo Gabrowitsch were let loose on stage to critique, commend and appraise typefaces in public.
We were also delighted to meet up with a number of our FontFont designers who were at TYPO Berlin.
The quality of the speakers was fantastic and highlights included Simon Manchipp and Neville Brody. There was a number of workshops to take part in, including Erik Spiekermann’s print workshop and the Calligraphy and Lettering Workshop by our Head of Type, Andreas Frohloff.

We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the first ever Kerning Conference, which takes place in Faenza in Italy.
Featuring a full day of workshops on 2 May and a day of talks on 3 May, the conference focuses solely on typography and web typography. The line-up already includes Marko Dugonjić, Nina Stössinger (designer of FF Ernestine), The Standardistas, Richard Rutter and Yves Peters.

We are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Webfontday! Set up by the Typographical Society Munich (Typographische Gesellschaft München), Webfontday is committed to providing hands-on advice, practical tips and inspiration through fabulous examples. The theme this year is ‘Type goes interface’ and the third Webfontday will take place on Saturday 10 November in Munich.
With the likes of Indra Kupferschmid, David Berlow, and Tim Ahrens the day is jam-packed with talks from type experts and creatives from across the global. Typography expert and author of FontFeed, Yves Peters, will also be giving a talk on ‘Better Web Typography’.

The Type Directors Club was founded in 1946 by leading figures in the world of typography. Its mission is to support and promote excellence in typography. They provide educational and informative events throughout the year and run two annual competitions, one for typeface design and one for the use of letterform and type in design.

Last year Onur Yazıcıgil and Alessandro Segalini set up and organized ISType (Istanbul Type Seminars), to encourage and develop typographic literacy in Turkey. Their inaugural event was held in September 2011 and was a fantastic success, combining workshops with a series of lectures and creating a space where inspiration and ideas are exchanged and developed.
